Students of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) are actively participating in the Students’ Union Government (SUG) elections, with voting currently underway through the University’s online electoral platform. The digital election process was designed to ensure transparency, accessibility, and efficiency, allowing eligible students to participate securely from any location.
The online electoral process commenced with the registration of eligible student voters, followed by the nomination of candidates seeking various elective positions. Thereafter, nominated candidates underwent a comprehensive screening exercise conducted by the Electoral Committee to ascertain their eligibility in line with the approved electoral guidelines. These stages were successfully concluded ahead of the commencement of voting.
Prior to today’s voting exercise, an online accreditation process was conducted to verify and authenticate eligible voters. Students who successfully completed accreditation were cleared to participate in the election, ensuring that only verified members of the student body are able to cast their votes.
Voting officially commenced today and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. Eligible students are encouraged to log in to the online voting portal and cast their votes before the deadline. The Electoral Committee has assured students that the voting platform is secure, transparent, and capable of delivering credible election results.
The University community anticipates a peaceful and successful conclusion of the electoral process, culminating in the emergence of student leaders who will represent the interests of their colleagues with integrity, dedication, and accountability. Election results will be announced by the Electoral Committee following the close of voting and the completion of the collation process.
